Reminded of You

By Tana M. Mann Easton, Lead Efficiency Engineer

There are quite a few times a week, if not every day, when I encounter something that reminds me of someone in my life.  It could be a song that makes me think of singing in the car with friends.  Sometimes it’s a smell that makes me think of lovingly homemade meals in the past.  Often it’s an object in my home that I received from another person.

I already have a standing habit on Tuesdays (and sometimes Wednesdays) every week to take pictures of objects that make me thankful and posting those pictures on Instagram and Facebook.  I tag the people the objects remind me of and for whom I’m appreciative.  This holiday season, I’m going to challenge myself to make a conscious effort to notice daily when something reminds me of a person and reaching out to them (via email, text, FB messenger, whatever) to let them know I’m thinking of them.  I won’t expect any sort of response back, but I don’t know of anyone who wouldn’t love having someone let them know that they’re being positively thought about that day.  What an easy and quick way to spread more love in the world.
