How to Change Time Scale in Your Outlook Calendar

By Tana M. Mann Easton, Lead Efficiency Engineer

Have you ever wished to change the time scale in your Outlook calendar?  Outlook usually defaults a single unit in the calendar section to 30 minutes.  But this can easily be adjusted.  For example, if you’re trying to schedule 15 minute meetings instead of 30 minutes (or 45 minute meetings instead of 60 minutes) so that you have time in between meetings and you’re not constantly feeling hurried, then you would probably prefer a 15 minute time scale in your calendar.

In order to change the Time Scale in your Outlook calendar, navigate to your Outlook calendar.  Under the View tab, go to the Arrangement Group where you’ll see the Time Scale button.  Click the drop-down arrow, and you’ll see the following options:

60 Minutes – Least Space for Details
30 Minutes
15 Minutes
10 Minutes
6 Minutes
5 Minutes – Most Space for Details

Choose the option you want, and your calendar will reflect the new Time Scale.
