Vertical Column Highlighting in Outlook and Word
By Tana M. Mann Easton, Lead Efficiency Engineer
Did you know you can highlight text in a vertical column in Outlook and Word? I didn’t know about this possibility until a few years ago. At that time, I only knew how to highlight horizontal rows of text.
To highlight a vertical column, simply hold down the ALT button on your keyboard while you click and drag your mouse over the text you want to select.
I’ve used this function to highlight columns of text in yellow or to underline the first word of successive sentences. Hopefully now that you know this hidden gem, it will save you time as well.
